Where I stayed
We woke up early again, about 5.45am and decided to have breakfast and head out on to the beach whilst it was still cool. DD helped whisk the eggs for breakfast but in the process ended up spraying it all over our bed. She was very happy helping daddy cook but got abit too excited about the beach and ended up bouncing off the seats and banging herself. Tantrums, tears and ti-aras moment. Daddy took DD to the beach for a run around. DS was strapped to the front and we marched up the beach to join them. Anthony was like a little child running around after her with the favourite game being sliding down the sand dune banks giggling uncontrolably.
The beach just goes on for miles, sandy white and clear waters, although slightly cold, but hey, you can't have everything.
The New Zealanders are very friendly and we ended up chatting to a lady whose son had just moved back to NZ with his british wife. She was quite taken aback with DD and couldn't believe that she was only two. It was nice to chat to my forst Kiwi.
The campsite is amazing. Right outside our pitch was the shower block and cooking area. The cooking area turned out to be a full on kitchen that guests can use with rows of sinks, hobs and a couple of ovens. Saves on using your own gas and water. The shower area is pretty top notch and spotlessly clean with the added bonus of a family shower room. Very handy when trying to get a rampaging toddler clean and sand free. They've got a cool clothes wash area with a solar powered drying area outside (work it out..........).
The site has a playground that DD took a definite shine to. They also had the coolest trampoline pillows - see piccy - that were so safe we just left her to bounce, watching from under the shade of the tree. A fantastic way to wear her out.
Unforunately our time here was limited to one night due to family engagements out of our hands so we didn't get to explore through the town or futher up the beach. Sandwiches and nibbles to hand and off we go.
