Where I stayed
What I did
Started with Buddy Holly and ended with snow, snow, snow
We went downtown to Denny's for breakfast. We tried to find some antique shops, but found that none were open. I did find one craft shop that was really neat. The town was very empty, I guess they took the whole week off from Christmas to New Years!
At 10:00am the Buddy Holly museum was open so we wandered over there to see what it was all about. It was really neat and had someone take our pictures beside his famous glasses. Randy loved all the memories, but we couldn't take pictures (not allowed).
We left Lubbock and proceeded through Amarillo--took pictures of a fair along side the road and a hugh Wells Fargo Bank; and then stopped in Dumas, Texas where we went to a museum that had all antiques from the plains, etc. It was fantastic!
Then we proceeded north and got to see all the snow that accumulated from the week before. . Found ourselves at the Best Western for the night in Walsenburg, Colorado. Almost had to engage our 4-wheel drive to negociate the parking lot to our room. Spending the day here to relax and rest. It is extremely cold and snowy.
Wasn't very exciting but really beautiful along the way. Tiring... just driving so we ate and went right to bed. The Place we ate was downtown and very nice with all kinds of antiques and decked out for the Christmas Holiday and the food was great. Going back today to take some pictures. Was unique!
Bye for now, until the next entry. Love to all and stay safe.
Love always,
Randy and Betty
