Really didn't want to do anything today so slept in as late as possible. By midday I couldn't hear the Kiwi girls any more so assumed they had gone into town and it was safe to leave the room.

It was so hot! 38C + humidity is far too hot to do anything and I just wanted to sit in the air con room all day but set off to at least see the local beach, Puerto Marquez.

The walk there was through a load of dodgy side streets with inquisitive/menacing stares from the locals. The beach was reasonably nice but full of locals and the tide was so far in that you couldn't sit anywhere. In the 20 minutes since leaving the hostel I had completely managed to sweat through my shirt! That is more than enough sightseeing for one day for me!

I sat around by the pool for about 10 minutes before giving up and heading for shelter in the air con haven of the bedroom and Internet. Dave went off on a mission into town to buy some valium and it seems it wasn't as straightforward as in Thailand, where they dish it out like sweets, as he ended up having to bribe a doctor for a prescription! Still he was happy and good to go for the long bus journeys to come.

Time for dinner. We had considered going to Hooters (American chains are everywhere in Acapulco) so headed there in a taxi. Couldn't face going in so walked off along the strip (further than we thought) and settled on the imaginatively titled, "Tacos and Beer". Dined, unsurprisingly, on kebab meat style tacos and baby Coronas (Coronitas) which were far more expensive than I had imagined. Didn't want to face the Kiwi's again so hid in the room for the rest of the night with a 12 pack of Sol before an early night, ready to get the hell out crazy early tomorrow.
