We had originally planned to carry on straight from Adelaide through the centre of Australia right up to Darwin but after the amount we spent on accommodation we realised that it wasn't going to be possible. Didn't want to stay in the horrible hostel for another night so checked out at 9:30 and lugged our bags to the car park.

Decided to give the harvest hotline a ring and were told that there was loads of work in the McLaren Vale region picking grapes again. Didn't want to fruit pick again but I needed the money and if work was available then I needed to snatch it up.

Sat around in Gloria Jean's drinking a coffee with a croissant and waiting for Antti to show before jumping in the car and driving off to McLaren Vale to see if we could get a job. The girl behind the desk was incredibly enthusiastic about how much work was available and seemed desperate to find people. She couldn't believe the harvest hotline were telling everyone to go to Shepparton when they were so desperate. Filled in the required forms and were told to start on Monday! Not bad for a spur of the moment call.

Seeing as we would be picking for a while we needed to find somewhere reasonably close to stay and most importantly for as little money as possible. Ended up at the Eco Caravan Park in Aldinga, a short walk from the beach, and only $33 a week! Fair enough I'd be sleeping in the car but I don't mind doing that for a while if we have guaranteed long term work.

The campsite seemed quite good. It had a TV room with pool table, table tennis and a crappy Internet terminal. Also had a reasonable cooking area although there were some really weird people who sat around outside the kitchen all day so I gave it a wide berth. Played some table tennis for a while (I really suck), before going to the supermarket for some food for the week (pasta again!) and a slab of West End Draught. 30 cans didn't last long and they were finished that night! What's going to keep us entertained in this place for the rest of the week now!?!
