The last few days have been largely spent lazing around doing very little during the day and going out drinking in the evening. It seems drinking is a very big part of Australian life, or at least our hostel would have us believe it is, and so every evening I seem to be at some pub drinking free beer. Not complaining really!

We haven't been lazy the whole time though as we really need to get out of Sydney to see more of Aus before we run out of money! Still not setup a bank account but when I have no address it seems a bit difficult. I'll get it sorted in Melbourne as I intend to be there for some time.

To get around Aus we needed to buy a car and actually managed to buy one today! A lovely gold 1992 3.9L Ford Falcon! It's a beauty! Now if it can actually get us around the country in one piece, the power steering broke on the way to meet us lol, I will be very happy. It seems in such good condition and has so much camping equipment that I have no worries about selling it when we come to leave.

It was so much better than the car we looked at yesterday! Some fool was trying to sell a 21 year old heap of crap for $1700! It didn't look like it would make it to the end of the road let alone Melbourne! It sounded like a tractor and I was so glad we found a better car before we got desperate.

So to test the car today we jumped in and shot off to Manly to check out the beach. Beach was pretty nice, although it was $12 for 2 hours parking, and looks like the place I will base myself next time I am in Sydney. Getting back was a nightmare however in the pissing rain and heavy rush hour traffic. Air con and automatic transmission came in handy and I can't wait to get on the open road tomorrow and out of Sydney!

Oh well the pub is calling.....
