Decided we should all really start living the holiday life today and so started drinking at breakfast, which seeing as we slept in pretty late and was 10am it was closer to lunch.
It was boiling hot today and we spent most of the time walking round town to see what it had to offer. Settled down by the river to catch a few rays and catch up on my diary before giving up and heading back to the hotel for a siesta. The sun was intense and it had made me seriously tired.
Dave and Kim went to Nazim's again whilst I was trying to sleep! I say sleep but really mean lying in a puddle of my own sweat!
In the evening we headed to the sports bar in town to see if they were showing the football later (England v Argentina). They weren't but they were showing the rugby instead. Thought why not and had dinner of fish and chips before watching the game. The game was a thoroughly good laugh, especially as there was a good crowd of English and Aussie's cheering every point.
After the game we headed to the hive to join Lars for a couple of drinks. I had now been drinking for 12 hours, spent 3 days budget and was still relatively sober. Think I sweat out all the mornings beer whilst trying to sleep! However a couple of rum cocktails and I was gone.
Headed back to the hotel and realised it was opposite what we dubbed the "gay palace". Seriously, all the people going in the hotel were couples. Middle aged western men with early 20's Lao guys! According to the LP it is illegal to sleep with Lao nationals outside marriage so no wonder they had security on the gates!
