There is very little to do in Chongqing so we decided to get a bus to Chengdu, which would be our 4th province in 4 days! Deprived of something warm to drink since Shanghai, not enough coffee shops in China, we headed to the coffee shop across from the hotel. Said our goodbyes to Wolt before getting a taxi (again useless) to the bus station.

The bus to Chengdu took 5 hours whereas the train took 10 so it was an easy decision. The journey was rather uneventful. A couple of movies, the Transporter (no idea if it was 1 or 2 but it was OK) and some terrible movie called Champions which was about fighting to the death. It must have been straight to VCD.

As with Chongqing the bus station was miles away so we had to get a taxi again, and were charged double the local rate. The entrance to our hostel was rather worrying as it was nothing but a building site but it turned out to be great. Dorm beds for 1 quid a night can't be bettered anywhere in China I bet.

The main attraction (only attraction) in Chengdu is the pandas so we booked a trip to visit them the day after tomorrow. During dinner we ran into a few people from Xi'an so had a quick chat about what they had been up to since.

Standing in the courtyard we bumped into Jesper again and he informed us he was going to Tibet the day we had booked the pandas and we decided to join them as they needed a couple more people to fill the land cruiser.

Frantically changed our panda visit to tomorrow and booked our flights (2100 yuan) to Tibet for the following day. Had to pay for the tickets that night so made a dash to the cashpoint. Managed to forget the PIN to my credit card so had to use my debit card. The machine also paid me in 50's which was rather annoying and between us we managed to empty the machine!
