This diary entry isn't going to be very interesting as we did very little all day. We needed to be in Taipei later in the evening as we had a place booked in a hostel but there was very little to do before getting the bus at 3pm.

Got the 5 star bus to Taipei which took about 4 hours. Only 4 TV channels to choose from, all crap, so I turned to MP3 player land and tried to sleep. Again it didn't happen.

Arriving in Taipei was pretty exciting for me. Having spent 4 days in a sleepy town in the south, the bright lights of Taipei started to look appealing. It had a touch of a mini Tokyo about it and I was looking forward to 3 days of sightseeing.

Got a taxi to our hostel which seemed a bit tatty but we wouldn't be spending much time there anyway. Dumped our stuff and got in another taxi with Graeme and Cindy to head to their hotel. Getting hungry we headed our the road to a Beijing Duck restaurant we had spotted. A fantastic dinner with dim sum, rice and an amazing whole duck before heading to meet Nick, the Taipei boss, in a nearby bar.

There was another beer girl in this bar promoting Corona so we drank Corona all night and got loads of useless freebies like cards and fridge magnets. Nick knew another place across the road so we went there. You could rent out a hookah pipe and got a menu of flavours to choose from. We chose Jasmine and made loads of jokes about Jasmine the Hooker. Can't say I really liked it and it tasted like a bar of soap but it was worth a try.

Behind where we were sitting was another table in a ball pit! The group in there looked about 14 but they were happily drinking and smoking away. It was pretty late and had missed the trains so got a taxi back so we could sleep before our 10am brekkie tomorrow.
