We were up early this morning, for our 9AM pick up.  Today we head to Bribie Island with Lennie, Scott, Jacob and Jacinta.  I took about an hour, nice drive, we were able to see the Glass House Mountains and then drove over the bridge to Bribie Island.

On one side is the channel, the calmer side.  People swim, fish, drive their boats around.  There are beaches along the coast, as well as playgrounds for the kids.  It felt like a little tourist beach town.  Even the ice cream truck pulled into the park and the kids went running.

We went for a drive through one of the new developments, Pacific Harbour, the houses were amazing except for the few that were painted with purple trim.  Most houses had access to the water in there backyard.  After our drive we headed to the ocean side.  We picked up some food a local bakery and finally had our first meat pie.  I had steak and mushroom and Robert got steak and kidney -yum.  We walked over to the beach.  You could hear the waves crashing and the kids screaming, all having a great time in the water.  Immediately everyone put on suntan lotion and then headed for the water.  The water was a bit cool, but refreshing.  The waves were a little rough, a few knocked Jacob over.  Jacinta was cute trying to jump the waves.  Finally Robert got a hold of them and was lifting them over the waves.  They all seemed to have a good time.  After a while the kids came in, I buried the both of them and made a mermaid of Jacinta.  Robert and Scott were in the water, jumping the waves and bodysurfing without having to look after the kids.  Lennie is like me, we didn't go in very far, just enough to get cooled off. The waves were too rough for me and I couldn't see my feet, so that was a no no..  After everyone seemed to get enough sun, we were off to Bribie Canal to look for soldier crabs.

We stopped at a ice cream shop.  They had all sort of favors that we never saw before, but I was in the mood for a milk shake.  It's amazing, how similar but very different places are.  My milk shake was literally milk with some strawberry flavoring.  Lennie told me if I wanted it to be like ice cream, I needed to order a thick shake.  I will know for next time!  Robert had a cone with, violet crumble and mocchiato.  The violet crumble looked like chocolate and a creme ice cream, but it was chocolate and carmel.  It tasted very good.  After our ice cream, we walked along the beach.  And then decide to walk out to the pier, a few men were fishing, not catching much but seaweed.

Jacob and Jacinta were ready to search for soldier crabs, but the tide was still too high.  So instead they played cricket.  We all helped out in our own little way, even if it was only tossing the ball back to them.  They all had a great time and didn't want to stop playing.  After a while we noticed the tide was down, but as we made our way over to the beach, there were no crabs in sight.  So we hopped back in the car and headed home.  Our first stop was at Frank and Joyce's to show them Jacinta's nice new haircut.  She looks beautiful, with all of her curly hair.  We had a couple of ice cold beers and a few snacks and then on our way back to Nadia and Luke's.

They invited Sabrina over for dinner, so she was there to greet us.  After we got cleaned up Nadia prepared us a wonderful dinner.  Sabrina called it 'Warm chicken salad a la Nadia'.  It was very good, one of the best salad we had in a long time.  And the desert was delicious, chocolate muffins, in a banana custard with peaches.  Everything hit the spot, wonderful meal to end a fun filled day.

Everyone cleaned up as I washed the dishes and we all headed to bed shortly after.
