Where I stayed
Leela Beach - Leela Beach Bungalows http://www.geocities.com/leelabeachbungalows/index.html
One of the cheaper bungalows. We paid 600 Baht during the Full Moon Week for fan and hot water. Just a little something we noticed while traveling, better to have a standard fan than a ceiling fan. We couldn't even feel the air from the fan through the mosquito net. The A/C bungalows are newer and nicer than just the fan bungalows. You will need to request hot water, if you would like it. Cold is cold, no luke warm. The have a restaurant and serve alcohol. They also offer to pick you up at Haad Rin free of charge if you are staying there. If you need a ride back to Thong Sala it will cost you 50 Baht per person, same as a taxi truck from Haad Rin to Thong Sala or vice versa.
Cocohut Village http://www.phangancoco.com/index.html
Nice place to stay. On of the new hotels on Leela Beach, great view, larger beach, restaurants, pools. For 1500 Baht during Full Moon Week, you could get a great place with a view of the water, A/C, TV, and hot shower.
This is a great place to stay
Lighthouse Bungalows http://lighthousebungalows.com/activities.php?Koh_Phan-gnan=First_Class
This place doesn't have a beach, but has a bar and restaurant. Great view from all of their bungalows. And cheaper prices during Full Moon than Leela Beach Bungalows and nice rooms. You looked at a room for 500 Baht, but it was taken. They have regular fans, not ceiling fans.
We had a great day at the beach, meet a ton of people from all over the world. We got some great tans and then headed to downtown Haad Rin. A lot of restaurant have movies all day long, so we looked for a good movie with some specials. And ended up watching Casino Royale and Mission Impossible III.
