We were in Athens at the same time as the Athens Marathon. Although I did not run the 26 miles from Marathon to Athens I did get the opportunity to run in the 5k. It was 38 degrees that morning and I almost did not do it. But the sense of accomplishment was very rewarding as I crossed the finish line in the middle of the Olympic Stadium in much better time than I anticipated!! We waited and watched the others come in and then the winner of the marathon ran across the same finish line as me. Great day.
