Arrived in Firenze this afternoon. Walked out of the hotel to the street market next door and to the Doumo. Caught the Hop-on/Hop-off bus around town and up to a hilltop lookout of Fiesole and another on the other side of the valley. Very interesting city (blows Milan away).
Took the 1 hour train to Pisa. Interesting, but the leaning tower is pretty much the only thing to see. Came back and hopped back on that bus for a few turns. About to take an evening train to Roma! Will let you know how things work out.
Why does Italy still use skeleton keys?
