Sooo excited, New York has been ringing in our heads for years....

We head straight for Long Island to the Best Kite Centre. Drive over Brooklyn Bridge and get panoramic views of New York City - so keen to explore!  Meet up with Rob who totally hooks us up, stay in an awesome pad in Amityville (yip, Amityville horror ring a bell?) - super nice little town about 40 min train from Manhattan Island.  Chilled out evening in anticipation of NY exploration tomorrow...

Get up earlyish, walk to the station and hop on the train to Penn Station - NYC... No maps, just names of places that are a must see.  We head to an exit and pop up in Madison Square Gardens . It truly is Grand, big buildings everywhere, names you read are places you always heard about.... Feels super rad being in this city!

We pick a tall lookin building and head to it (its The Rock!  Rockefeller's building) get to the entrance there there is an ice rink surrounded by flags of the world - yip gotta take the patriotic SA flag photo, always!  Then we grab tickets that take us to panoramic views of New York from the top of the building... So cool looking around and pin pointing famous landmarks - Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building, Banking District, Ground Zero, Central Park.

After getting our bearings from the 70th floor, we decide its definitely coffee time so head to West Broadway Street to a coffee shop that Pat Seddon highly recommended - Ground Support - probably the best coffee we have had in USA - in fact definitely the best coffee we have had in USA!  Also great sambos....  Lapping in the New York Coffee shop feelings we plan a walk to meet Graham on 32nd Street about 1 hour walk away... Pop into some big name shops.  And really stoked that we have another week to explore here when we return from California.  Walk past Union Square and up to 32nd street to a Korean Restaurant for a beer.  Chill there for a bit and then head to an awesome bar in the very arty district - couple more beers, get late and trains are pretty spaced out - we get a yellow cab to Penn Station and then hop on the train back to Amityville.  Great evening and wind is going to blow tomorrow!

Get up pretty early and head to the Best Kite Centre - great location and spot with totally decked out facilities and excellent Kiteboarding school (Jet Ski assisted teaching too!) - making it so easy to learn nowadays!

On the ski at 10am and shoot out to the spot.  sooooo cold! Coldest session Ive ever had but such a great spot! Butter smooth water - can really crank up the speed and good wind for 8 Nemi...  Get a pair of booties after numbing which helped heaps...

Get back to house late and thoughts were about going out in Brooklyn but after some chilling decide to save it for when we return in May - big pub crawl getting planned!

Wake up the next morning and head for breakfast with Rob and Shaun and then head out for a 7.5 hour drive through the country to Buffalo - our Niagara Falls base.
