Boat to Tayrona National Park
Turquoise water has a golden sparkle as it is full of gold flakes (fools gold washes down coastal rivers from the Sierra Nevada - tallest coastal mountains in the world - into the Caribbean blue). An amazing visual!
Temp: mid 30 degrees
Water Temp: 27 degrees
Visibility: 30 metres
2 days of beaching in this absolute paradise. Rent hammocks overlooking the panoramic to sleep in (big round hut you see on the hill in the photos).
Day 2: we visit some ruins deep in the Jungle (very hot trek), but amazing. Then more beach and cerveza time...
Day 3: Sunrise and a morning beach session. We start walking out at noon (about 2 hours) to the road (no boat this time). Pass some spectacular scenery. It starts getting extremely late and darkens. We're deep in the jungle and pretty lost... Make a decision to turn back eventually... Get back to a beach and ask a fisherman. What should have been 7 more minutes took about 2 more hours. Nevertheless it was another spectacular trek through Colombian intense green jungle - well worth it.
Brain needs to start making space for Central America! Wowing...
