Another first. I had toast for breakfast today. Four pieces, with some kind of jam (kaya?). My first taste of bread since leaving Singapore. I'm more used to nasi goreng in the morning now, and Nasi Padang, eaten with the hand of course, for other meals.
I spent the day at Taman Safari. It was actually very good value at Rp 5000, including a bus-ride through the animal park. It's something like the Lion Park in Victoria, but with more variety - and several circus-type shows. I saw an elephant show, a lions and tigers show, a bird show, like at Jurong Bird Park (not as good), performing seals, and a very amusing performance from the orangutans - enough to occupy a day. The only problem was the monopoly on the food. It was all expensive stuff like California Fried Chicken and pizza. Even nasi goreng was Rp 4000 - I couldn't bring myself to buy it at that price. There was a big parade around the park at 3 pm - all very Disney-like.
