My trip so far…..

Leaving Sacramento was no problem. My sister took me. We pulled out of the driveway at almost 5pm on Monday, 19 September 2011. We got to the airport by 5:30pm using the carpool lane and travelling in the direction of least resistance (south to north).   There were only 4 people ahead of me to check-in and they were together, so I checked in at 5:47pm for a scheduled 6:10pm departure.  Sac to L.A. was over before I knew it; I didn't even pull my new laptop out.

OMFG! It’s not enough that they have you trapped, now the airlines are charging for wi-fi.   $4.95 for 30 min and $7.95 for 24 hours;  s-h-a-d-y!  And I miss MNF.  I stayed up on the LAX-MIA leg as well, reading and listening to the iPod.

The Miami airport has quite the selection of food vendors.  I ended up having miso soup with crab, steamed rice, salmon/tuna nigiri and seaweed salad for breakfast.  Miami Intl is quite the international hub.  It was there that the Caribbean vibe started to move me.  Most of the shop girls were latina; probably the same with most of Miami’s service sector.

At this point I’m really starting to sweat the 4 grams of hash I smuggled in a bag of Halls cough drops.  But it’s too late.  The flight to Belize had the air of anticipation I can only remember feeling during high school/ college graduation.  I land in at PGI and breeze through customs. Catch a cab to the Global Village Inn, but my taxi driver is pushing me for the $25 ride to Belize
