We left Raro, bound for Bora Bora, mid morning beating into 20kts out the ESE. Not ideal, but at least we were going fast in sort of the right direction. That only lasted till midnight. The breeze died, and we motorsailed the rest of the way. Well, motored anyway, under one engine, into 5kts of wind and a flat sea... 200 miles out, we kicked in the afterburners (2nd engine, ah.. the joys of big catamaran sailing), and pushed on at 9.5kts towards our destination (fuel had been a concern, but beers were beconing, and there is nothing worse than being hostage onboard with revelry ashore... We were determined to get in, to clear in, and get the beers in) Anyway, the weather gods were smiling on us again, and so 560 miles, 3 days, 2 mahi, and 5 books later, we pulled into Bora Bora.
So sorry about your luck, but mine is holding out just fine! We arrived to discover, we were just in time for the 'Miss Bora Bora' competion being held this evening. So, bearing that in mind.. have to run..we have a front row seat..though I was told not to expect a lap dance :-(
