Getting up with a fuzzy head to head to a charity 5km run was probably the worst decision to have made before arriving in Chicago.  A bunch of us girls decided to to this as a challenge to ourselves (as part of our weightloss journeys) along with supporting a great cause.

The atmosphere was a lively one, even at this early time in the morning, as the guns sounded to start the race, it was another 10 minutes before we actually started moving.

We all decided that we would go at our own pace and meet each other at the finish line.  I headed off with a light jog.  I had been training for a couple of months, doing the C25K programme and really wanted to jog most of it. I crossed the finish line in 46 minutes or so...I jogged about 90% of it.  I was extremely proud of myself, along with the rest of the team...we have certainly come a long way!

Freshing up back at camp, I headed off to meet a travelling friend for yum cha, which was fabulous and then I headed to the tattoo parlour to get inked up!  I was extemely happy with the finished product and Believe in myself every day (yes I had the word Believe inked on my wrist!).

Most of the girls were heading off this morning, where I had another night and day in Chicago before heading to Orlando.  I got a new room mate S who was also staying and we decided to hit up Heaven on Seven as I had been raving about it for our last dinner together.

I will admit that I love southern style food and I ate here 4 times in the 6 days I was here! :)

My last day I had to myself, so I headed off on a food tour of Chicago.  Portillos for a hot dog, deep dish pizza at Gino's (where you can write on the wall), Garrett's popcorn (I am a convert to their Chicago Mix (cheese and caramel corn mixed together....honest try it...it's like addictive...it's crack!).

I wish I had more time in Chicago.  I didn't see as much touristy stuff as I would have liked, mainly because I was there for a girls weekend, but I loved what I saw here....pity it's so windy and cold in September!
