After our party night, we headed off through sisal cactus farms and caught a brief glimpse of Kilamanjaro (it was just an outline really) as it was cloudy and arrived at our overnight stop, camping behind a petrol station cum bar (that didn't serve alcohol!). The following morning we headed off before the sun rose and arrived in Dar el Salaam. What a busy port town. We had some free time to do as we pleased and then we caught the ferry across to Mikadi Beach Resort. This was idealic. Nikki and I opted for a hut, which is on stilts on the beach, covered in mosquite screens and mossie nets. We freshened up in the open air showers set in a palm grove over looking the beach and then chilled out in the bar, which is on the beach and sipped frozen alcholic slushies for the evening.
