I think we were still sort of wiped out from yesterdays hill climb and so much sun. Chrissy felt sort of sick and weak all morning. A nice breeze today helped with the heat. We broke a spoke today and were forced to tie two together and tighten it as we didn't have the correct tools.
We went to Pompei which is a 43 BC Roman town preserved because until 100 years ago it was covered in volcanic rock from a horrible disaster. The things you can see and walk right up to and touch are amazing.
We then spent the rest of the afternoon biking into Naples. Later we found out that Naples has the craziest traffic in Italy. We saw it first hand. It was awesome how tight everyone is jambed into this little road, yet they continue to hurry as fast as they can. No on seems to follow the rules. Bicycles win again. They get the best of both worlds. They don't have to follow car rules or pedestrian rules. Did I mention no one does in this country?
Finally we made it to Naples center where the lady at the train station was no help at all and we ate pizza in the City where pizza originated, Naples.
We stayed in a hostel for the first time tonight. It was pretty nice and the guy who ran the place was super accomodating.
