Back home we are now. I have to admit, this was the first trip where when I got home, I actually felt like saying "home sweet home"! It had been a long trip, and familiarity had been longed for at some points in time.
I've just added some blogs for my last two days in Madaba and Amman, which you are welcome to go read. If not, here's my recap of Jordan:
Jordan has some magnificient sites and its natural scenery is really majestic. Petra, Wadi Rum and the dead sea were my favorites (not real surprisingly). I did find that its cities lack at atmosphere or character a bit. I was really fascinated with Jordan in the sense that it is one of the few middle eastern countries not at war with anyone or getting bad press in the news from extreme muslim practices. However, thats not to say it is free of problems. Our taxi driver to Jerash recieved a frantic call from a former female employee needing 500 jordanian dollars to pay for surgery, as there is no gov't health care or much insurance in Jordan. In all, I wish I had more time to get a feel for the people there, but overall they did seem nicer and more laid back than egyptians, in fact those I spoke to shared my opinion of egyptians!
Right now, I'm still exhausted from my adventure, and that is what my trip was, an adventure. People ask what was my favorite place or moment, and really I cant pick one. We did so much ridiculous stuff in our 16 days there, its unreal. I give GAP adventures great reviews for its itinerary, and our egyptian guide. I want to write about any other little things about my trip, the culture over there, the folks I met and odd moments. Unfortunately, I'm really tired of writing! I'll update this entry as I find time with stuff, maybe when I add pics to all of my blogs, yeah...
