Bom Dia! (HI) I'm in Portugal! Well the ship is docked in Portugal but I'm still on it. I'm leaving in a few minutes to meet a friend and go find some internet. By the time I post this I will have found an internet café - Hurray!!! There's been a lot of drama with our internet and people keep saying they're not charging and the minutes don't count, but the minutes are still running and mine haven't been reset and they IT people are always way to busy and hard to find and I would hate to use a whole bunch of minutes and then be out of internet for the entire voyage. So I'm going to write some more real quick and put it on a flash drive and go into Lisbon.
Lisbon!!! Whoa. I got up really early this morning (or so I thought) to watch the sun rise over the port, but when I opened up the door I was face to face with the Golden Gate Bridge. No joke, Lisbon has one too. We had come into port over an hour earlier than they announced, so I didn't get to take pictures of us coming in or under the bridge. And when we leave in a week we won't embark until after sunset. Ooohh! But the sunset over the bridge!!! I'm so excited!
I'm going to spend the day with a girl named Lindsay who I met on one of the first days of orientation. She's the one who wants to put together an international theatre project. Very exciting. Hopefully we'll have some time to talk about that today too. I've made lots of friends but it still takes me as long as ever to make that connection to people, so sometimes I'm still pretty lonely. It'll be great to have a day to spend with Lindsey just hanging out. There's Lucía, too, and Alaine, and the people I met on tours in Athens. And (I bet you were waiting for this) there are lots of good-looking male-types too. :D I must try to be as vigilant about photographs inside as I am outside.
I'm feeling very spoiled by this whole experience, and not just the cruise around the world part. The crew is amazing, and so good to us. Did you know someone comes in and cleans our bathroom and makes our beds everyday? They come in and take our laundry and give us new towels and vacuum and everything. They're amazing. I'm working on a way to do something nice for them. And the dining staff is the same thing, constantly picking up trays and filling water glasses and picking up after us. I feel guilty sometimes, but I don't know what else to do. I guess this is actually easier than the typical voyage, since usually all the cabins are full and there are 700 people instead of 300. Wow. They treat us really good and it feels more like being on a cruise than being in school. The price tag is starting to look more reasonable.
Well I'm meeting Lindsay in ten minutes to go into town. Hopefully I'll be able to find a cheap phone and a cheap couple hours of internet time. I'm sorry I haven't been able to check emails; it's been all I can do to get on and post these and get off. But today I'll get to check them, finally! And I'll try to check one more time before I leave Portugal (the 19th), at least, so now's your chance! If you know anybody who wants to be added to the list for notifications for this blog, email me that too. Obrigada and Adeus! (thank you and goodbye!)

Wow
Wow It does look like the Golden Gate Bridge, that is so strange and awsome at the same time. I liked the 'not caring about where you end up' I'll have to remember that as my sense (or lack there of) direction always ends with me lost.
