Today was the last day working on the studio.  It didn't really hit me until I wrote that and it actually makes me sad. I can't believe how quickly it's gone by. It seems like just yesterday that we were pulling in from our long venture out here but it's time to head back.

In the last couple of days, I was able to finish the last bit of framing. Since the last time I posted, I finished framing the common wall and framed in the wall where the garage door is. I think the priority for Gar and Kris will now be to finish the room that most of the work has already been done in. Once that's done or close to it, they can move everything from the other room and start working in there.

Tonight has been mostly getting ready for the trip back. I was also able to get Gar to give a dobro demonstration that I will be posting. Myron gets in tomorrow but we don't really have plans after that. I'm sure we'll be showing him the area but we don't have any plans on what we're going to do. I'm sure we'll talk about some plans for the trip back. We'll probably start back on Friday but, at least, it will be nice to see Gar and wish him a happy birthday. Oops. Sorry Gar.

So this is it. The end of my stay in the desert. It's been a good time and we've got a good amount of work done. I'll post as much as I can from the road but with the wireless there are no guarantees.

     Goodbye sun.

Ah....
Brother: Great job with the blog. Try to continue to update during your adventure home. I have a feeling you may be doing some California dreaming once you start to feel the temps in the midwest. Although, they aren't too bad as of late. Warm wishes and safe travels. Follow your love of the open road!

Ready for the Road
Well, it sounds like your time in the desert is coming to an end for a little while. You have done a really good job and created some great memories. I am anxious for Myron to see it. Hopefully, he won't try to turn it into the Raasch family campground. Gar may be in for more than he thought. Don't let Myron pick up any more rigs or cuda's on the road...mamma needs a new pair of shoes...Have fun on route 66 cowboys.....Here is a little music for the journey....

PONCHO AND LEFTY
Living on the road my friend was gonna keep you free and clean
Now you wear your skin like iron and your breath's as hard as kerosene
You weren't your mama's only boy but her favorite one it seems
She began to cry when you said goodbye and sank into your dreams
Poncho was a bandit boys his horse was fast as polished steel.....

Great job!
The framing looks great -- now I'm eager for Gar to get that garage door taken out of there (PROFESSIONALLY). It's going to feel even roomier with that gone. You were a HUGE help, and made all the difference in the progress on the studio happening as quickly as it did. When you get tired of the cold, I'm sure there will be more to do, so just come on back! It was great getting to hang out with you in CA. See you in a couple weeks!

Love,
A.
