Our bike tour is over. We bid a teary farewell to our leaders. This is always the worst part of a trip, saying goodbye and knowing we may never see these wonderful people again. BB was at the hotel when we came down to go to supper. I recognized her familiar voice before I got to the lobby. It was hard to believe she was back. And then she was gone again.
Took a walking tour of the city and then had a carriage ride. We spent the day with Joan and Martha. After a light lunch at Jama Michalikowa Cafe, a very old cafe frequented by local artists of the past. The back section of this cafe is the original cafe. It reminded us of a restaurant in Vienna with its dark woodwork and lovely art decorations frequented by quiet, local clientele. Got out just in time to join A demonstration march back to the square. We have a real knack for finding live demonstrations in foreign countries.
After lunch we explored the city and checked out the concert schedules. We did a lot of window shopping and noted the locations of most of the bakeries and coffee shops.
Grabbed a quick supper at a cute little vegetarian restaurant on Mikolajska Street called Green Way and went off to a Chopin concert. They hid the location of the concert well but all our training in finding our way around paid off. We finally found it right on the main market square above a restaurant. HA!
The concert was lovely and short. All the better for not falling asleep. We feel very strongly that anyone who can move their fingers that fast must have super human powers.
