Well, you can't say I didn't warn you...

We couldn't stay at our favorite franchised motel in Kennewick, due to the fact that they tried to extricate a hundred-plus dollars a night from my Scottish wallet.  In other words, we love La Quinta, but that one was to rich for our blood.  Instead, we found a Quality Inn about two hundred feet (exaggeration) from the motorhome land for a much more reasonable cost.  Since it was my birthday, we had planned on going out for dinner, but the lateness and the weather...Rats! I just checked back at what I wrote and you already know about the food part...

Anyway, it snowed a good four inches here in K-town, on top of the eight or so inches from yesterday.  The motel slept good, regardless of whether it didn't really appeal to Lynn as much as to me.  Is this a guy thing, or what??

Anyway, again, the breakfast was tolerable and we met Cheryl, on her day off, at the dealership again.  (I seem to be using "again" quite frequently.)  She let us do a more acquainted look through the ACE, the smaller coach.  We had watched an in-depth video from the Thor company last eve and knew much more about it and what to look for.

Then, we took it for a short test drive.  Comments: The Goodyear RV tires have great traction in the deep snow of the RV lot.  The coach has great power: 362HP, 457 Ft.Lbs. of torque.  It handles great.  I loved driving it.  The mirrors are heated and electric.  It is much quieter than "What's-His-Name."

To shorten the story even more, we now own "Fiona", an able replacement for our beloved Shorty.  The deal is done.  We'll pick up Fiona in Post Falls and drop off Shorty in a couple of weeks, when it's prepped and after I've had my cataract surgery.  It would be a great time for a vision-joke, but I AM fighting it.

We're in Coeur d'Alene now and have just returned from dinner at Tomato Street. The birthday has been well celebrated.  Lynn did try to say that Fiona is one of my gifts, but I'm not so sure if I can handle anymore excitement.

With the weather as "iffy" as it is, we may have to wait a bit for our return.  The trip out here was plenty of excitement for most any septuagenarian, us included. We will keep you up to date as things happen.

Thanks for stopping by again...

Nice RV..congratulations Ralph and Lynn. Fiona (of course, I'm already to burst into the full musical score of Brigadoon) will have a good home. Is the oven big enough for the haggis?

Shorty got wind of the plan and tried to run away.... Thank goodness for the deep snow and uneven terrain out in the field! We told him you were keeping him just to settle him down. We better talk when you get back :)
