I've added a couple of photos from our trip here for you to see.  The trip is a real beauty.  If you get the chance, give it a drive...

This morn we took a hike on one of the many trails here at Sportsman State Park.  It started right near our campsite along the Flood Dike Road.  The dike protects the area from a possible flood of the Yakima River.  We saw very little of interest since it's nearly fall and most of the colorful things have passed on. We hiked for about an hour and a half. The trails are unique in that at every junction, there's a Satellite Photo of where the point is, apparently taken from a paid version of Google Earth.  It's still possible to get lost, but one would have to give it a real go to do it.  I'm guessing that so many folks called the Ranger asking "Where am I?" that they are saving money with these helpful signs.  A photo I've included will help make my point.

After the trail walk, Lynn remembered to lead us to a pond where we had hoped to find our first Wood Duck.  Lo and behold, she spotted a couple and the Fuji did the rest.  The birds are Awesome, a word I rarely use.  The colors are truly amazing, as you'll see in the pics.  Never having seen one before, we were both surprised and elated at the experience.

Then, off to reality and a drive to the laundromat.

Nothing new there, but the front-gate-of-the-park-guy, Mike, also told us of a Mexican grocery store, the Fiesta Market.  We spent quite a bit of time wandering the aisles and picking out some goodies to share at our next two stops, the God Sons and the Grand Niece's places. Never having been in such a place, we did have some fun.  Lots of HOT stuff!

Back at the coach, we hung out and had a repeat of last eve's dinner, Taco Salad.  It's one of our favorites, especially with Lynn's reliable recipe.

We'll be taking off in the AM to Spokane for our next stop.  Thanks for riding along with us...
