On Saturday, as planned, we hit the road west. Not the west of Horace Greeley, mind you, but close enough.  Before departure, we had a small "wave" of a problem, however. The front driver's side turn signal bulb looked to be burned out.  It was a Saturday, as I said, so unknowingly I drove out to the local Ford dealer and found that they were, in fact, surprisingly, open!

A fine young mechanic type found that it was not the bulb, but that the fuse servicing that bulb was burned out.  He used my fuse puller and one of my fuses, so the price turned out to be right.

This put us about an hour late on departure, but we had planned on only driving to the St. Regis area and then north to Cascade Creek Forest Service Campground.  It felt good to be back in the RV Saddle again.  The miles seemed to melt away as we got used to Shorty's traits.

We stopped at Quartz Flat Rest Area on the way, and found that a Forest Service CG , unknown to us, was actually attached to the Rest Area!  So, being a pair of astute travelers, we stopped.

Another $5 night's camping was well spent.  I got some decent pics there, which I'll actually share here on Travelpod, for a change.

Today, Sunday we drove a bit beyond Ephrata, Washington to Sunbasin RV Park.  It's located in the midst of corn and what-not of the green variety. One photo shows sagebrush, wildflowers and corn in various layers, so to speak.  The view of the area using Google Earth shows nothing but a vast number of green circles.  Just enter Ephrata, WA in the destination block and you too may be amazed. Google Earth is very user-friendly, You might learn something new.

The temperature today got into the mid-eighties here with a bit of rain enroute.  We passed through the storm and will have a week's good weather at Lisa's this week and hopefully through next weekend...  That is, if the weatherman does not mess it up. ;o)

We'll be at Lisa's tomorrow since we have less than two hundred miles to go.  Shorty is running great and seems to also be enjoying the trip.  He's handling the side winds just fine and is very cooperative.  Don't say anything to him, but I do think he's behaving better after the hearing about the possibility of being sold.  I know that I would.  ;-)

We are in the midst of a fine flatland sunset, but I'm a bit on the tired side and won't be getting off of my chair to get a shot.  We'll do better down on the Columbia River, I'm sure.

That's about it from this.  Remember: we are available by phone, text or email and are always appreciative of any contact from you all.

See you tomorrow or so...

Hope you saw that beautiful sunset with crescent moon, Venus, Spica and Saturn in attendance. It was gorgeous here in the Delta. Good to read your travelogue again.
