Yesterday we rolled into Tucson.  It was finally, truly getting warmer.  I thought that the AC service on Shorty had done the job, but not so.  Bogart's Service Center in Las Cruces failed us.  No cold air was coming from the dash.  Tomorrow I'll call them and see what can be done from 150 miles away.

We went to the first RV dealer and looked at several coaches.  It looked like we could get a good deal on an Itasca thirty footer, with two slide-outs.  We had an excellent free lunch of Mexican food.

Then we went across the street and went to another RV dealer.  Joe, the salesman, was a real down-t0-earth fella from Arkansas.  He showed us several rigs and I got to drive two of them.  Finally we found a 33 foot Allegro/Tiffin that we liked.  We got a free dinner and three nights free at their RV Park.

We had a good dinner and met an outstanding server, Kassandra.  She's nearly finished with her degree in Criminal Justice.  We had a great visit with her.  All of the staff were friendly.

This morning, Sunday, we went back to Dealer Numero Uno and drove the Itasca...with a manager. Long story short, they wanted too much money that we didn't want to spend.

Back across the street, we drove the Tiffin and it was great!  Very deluxe in every way, it was.  But, they must have colluded with the folks across the street, because they wanted too much money too!

Now we've moved across town, west and are at the Bar J RV Park.  My amigo, Pete, has wintered here and likes it.  So do we!  Paul and Gale are as old, and older than we are and are real gems.  We visited quite awhile with them when we checked in.  It's hot, about ninety, but Shorty's AC is working admirably.  By the way, I have a feeling that Shorty messed up both RV deals, but don't pass that on to him.  He'll just get arrogant.  You know the type.

We're staying here for two nights and try to get together with our friends Don and Barb from Helena.

More later, as the plot thickens...

Maybe there's a negotiation 101 book you could buy ;)

Glad you got the AC fixed...you may need it when you get to Montana..NOT. Well, to free meals is not bad so you are a good negotiator after all. Seek and ye shall find. Lots of snow here, as I said, but better days are before us.

Good ol' desert heat. I like it but ti's always nice to have a good a/c at night for the sleepage. Glad you found the Bar J and Paul and Gale. They are truly fine folks. Good luck on getting a good price on a motorhome.

Your title indicates you are having traveling fantasies of the Mexican variety!

Not YOUR title...I guess I would call it the title of where you are which indicates you are in Tulum, Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico...Did you go on a secret plane ride just to get some air-conditioning?

I fixed the title, Mary. Gracias for the "heads-up."
