What I did
The Flea Market

We took our time getting started this morning.  I even slept in until nearly seven o'clock.  We had breakfast and I read the paper online.  It got warm quickly and by the time we set out, It was in the mid-sixties.

One of our favorite things to do on the road, is to hit a flea market.  We found one less than ten miles from the Park.  It was a good one.  There were about ten long buildings with aisles and aisles of things to look at.  I've been wanting a metal file for a couple of projects in the coach.  I lucked out and found an "8" Mill Bastard" for just two dollars.  It's new and bit rusty, but is just what I need.  We tried to buy a set of poker chips for our upcoming get-together with our kids, but I accidentally dropped the set.  I told the "interesting" vendor that I'd pick them up and he retorted: "You sure will! You break it, you buy it."  We picked them up and put the set back together and left. No worries about customer service at this place, for sure.

We saw lots of things, but I took only a couple of photos which I'll post here.

We then went to the Dubya Store where Lynn found a collapsible laundry basket that's just the thing for the endless project. Some produce rounded out our purchases.  Lynn forgot her phone, so we shopped together for a change.

Then we headed back toward the Park and went to a Costco just a few blocks away.  Lynn picked out two rather garish shirts for me for our celebration down in the Keys.  We stocked up on meat and cheese too. The place was a madhouse.  Saturday, it seems all of the oldsters get out of the house to check out their driving skills, or so Lynn seems to think.  I had to laugh, since they have all week long to shop and wait until the weekend... their days off, I imagine.

As usual, in returning to the Park, we and the Navigator, showed ourselves new places to find our way.  We intend to take the coach back and get gas. It shouldn't be so busy there early, before the store opens.  Gas around here sets a new record for us, so far.  We've seen some for as high as $3.70 a gallon, with the current low of $3.48.  It's a good idea to plan for travel in your retirement.  We knew that and now it's even more evident.  It was well worth the sacrifice back in our younger days.  Alas, I am editorializing a bit...

Tomorrow we head for Sanibel Island in the Gulf.  A friend of our daughter, Lisa, has visited there and said that it's a "must see."  Lots of bird watching is available, so we're excited.  We lucked out and got two nights there, after making a few follow-up calls to work it out.  The drive is longer than our last "ride from hell", but we'll get through it.
