Yesterday was a slow day. I went to Mass in Cave Creek at St. Michael the Archangel Church.  A very upbeat place with lively music and very friendly people.  The pianist had a voice fit for publication and could really play.  A visiting priest presided and gave a very interesting homily, embodying Social Justice in the theme.  A breath of fresh air...

I picked up some groceries for my "trek" north.  It was hot, so spent most of the day inside looking out the window and into cyberspace.  I did have time to take a nap though, since now I'm really in the habit. Does a person good, especially after having risen at five AM.

The evening came eventually, and with it a sliver of an orange moon appeared.  Venus was evident and also jupiter not far from the moon itself.  I didn't have much luck getting a steady photo, since I didn't use a tripod.  I sat outside for quite a while watching the heavens.  There's not much city light here, so it's a pleasure to just gaze.

This morning after rising early again, I sat outside and observed six hot air balloons in the distance.  The wind was light, so they were in view for an hour or so.  I emptied the bird feeder on the ground last night, so the bunnies and birds were hanging around and feasting. The food didn't last very long.

When I was inside, I looked out and spotted a Northern Cardinal.  I haven't seen one for some time now and just may have gotten a decent shot through the screen of the door.  We will see...

I got packed and hooked up and un-hooked about eight thirty and drove over to twenty eight to bid Pete adios.  I may see him again if my plans change, but you never know.  Duffy got a bit excited with a visitor, but Pete, always in control kept me from getting licked or pawed.  Nice.

The trip up here is about seventy-five miles.  It requires crossing a mountain pass from two thousand feet to over four thousand.  Shorty took it in stride.  I got a bit messed up and took the wrong exit, ot believing the Hussy, so it took a bit longer.  The park is a small one with about thirty or so RVs.  It has a good laundromat and the owner, George, is a friendly and educated guy.  That means, to me anyway, that he used some big words correctly.  Even better: I understood 'em.

He was in the Merchant Marine for forty years...can't imagine that. He said that they had looked at two hundred RV parks before they found this one.  It's beautiful here with some new stuff: green grass and trees.  Oh, and roses... Beautiful red and yellow roses.  Nice.

They are installing cable internet as I type.  It should be ready to go by later today.  Lynn, Joe and I are scheduled to Skype this evening. Hopefully it will be working well.  We're doing a Florida Keys task force meeting...Kinda.  I'm not sure if Lisa will be involved.  I don't always get all of the info for some reason.  Huh??

I'll check my pictures and get them on here and let the rest of the day develop on it's own.  Thanks for the visit.

Cardinals are too hard to stuff. Personally, I prefer the pigeons. No one misses them anyway.
