We decided to stay in camp today.  The sunrise, which I barely saw, was a beauty.  Clouds were moving into the area and the winds were picking up.  We offered to keep an eye on Duffy while Pete and his tow bros went in to see the Balloon Fest.  The bros, Chuck and Chris arrived after dark last night.  We got acquainted a bit this morning.

After we had safely tucked Duffy into Pete's coach, we set out on our hike.  The trail follows the hills above Lake Havasu.  The hills are rolling and so did we.  I followed Lynn, as I am wont to do. Oftentimes, I could feel the sand from the trail striking my legs.  Shorts can let that happen. Some of the sand found my eyes too.  Funny how that happens in the desert in the wind.

The trail is an in-and-out.  We walked just over a mile and a half and stopped for awhile at Whyte's Landing, a campground also accessible by boat.  There's an outhouse there as well as two picnic tables and barbecue sites.  The water is amazingly clear and azure, I call it.  It was calm down in this cove.  We returned by the same trail, but noticed a spur that we found also ends in our campground. McKinney's Loop is about a mile long.  We'll try that one on another day.

Pete or Don, as you sibs know him, is preparing a standing rib roast as I write this.  It going to take 3.5 hours to cook, so we're looking at a late dinner...hopefully a dinner.  Lynn is baking soft pretzels and I'll make a green salad as our contribution to the victual effort.

We'll be here until Tuesday.  Tomorrow we plan to head to town in the morning to attend Mass.  It's always interesting to visit the various churches around the country and see what's what.  Thanks for stopping by.  Hasta la vista, Amigos...

Sounds like a good hike...I will store that for future reference. We will be in the 40s here tomorrow so the weird winter continues. Nice shots of the bay...any swimming?

This is a beautiful park and is on my list of faces. It's been fun camping with you and Lynn.
