Where I stayed
Still at home in Helena...
We just returned from better than a week visiting our daughter Lisa and her husband, Rich, in Auburn, Washington. It was a great time, with lots to do and fun to be had. Now the preparations begin. We hope to retrieve Shorty from our friends house in the Helena Valley on Sunday. Then it's time to get to work. I have a couple of things to install and we have lots of things to pack. It's a fun time and will go easier this year, what with all the experience we earned in 2011 with five months on the road.
We will go south via Idaho Falls again this year. Our intention is to spend a few days at Kodakchrome Basin State Park in southern Utah. It's a photographer's paradise so I'm told, named in the forties by National Geography for the newly developed film. Nothing, I'm sad to say to do with Paul Simon. He may have lifted the name though... Then we'll visit our friend Pat again in Las Vegas. From there we'll travel to Lake Havasu, Arizona to attend the Lake Havasu Hot Air Balloon Festival. Our friend, and my ol' Air Force buddy, Pete, is on his way there, gradually and will meet us. We plan on spending a week at the Campground and then move on. That's about it for now. Thanks for checking in.
