Where I stayed
What I did
We've traveled nearly eleven thousand miles in Shorty and about three thousand miles in Sooby. We bought some gas.
We stayed in fifty-four campgrounds, three driveways and on one street at a friend's house in Las Vegas. We visited friends and family in Arizona, Mississippi, Maryland, Connecticut, Wisconsin and Minnesot'. Ooops, almost forgot OHIO! There ya go, Jer'.
We've driven through snow, rain, sleet, deep water on the roadway, dust and much sunshine.
We've seen birds that we've never seen before
I have posted over one hundred fifty pieces on the blog and uploaded over a thousand photos. We've received many comments from so many friends. In May we set a record with over fourteen hundred hits on the site. We've made friends online and elsewhere. Even from as far away as New Zealand. We met folks on the road that we would never have met otherwise. We encountered very few negative folks and are thankful for that. Positive draws positivity, I believe.
We've seen spring at least four times, winter twice and significant flooding. We've experienced temperatures from a -2 degrees up into the nineties. We seen humidity up into the nineties and down into the twenties.
We've even started shopping at Wal-Mart.
We've eaten great food, the best in Georgia with Lynnie's brother Tim at a restaurant located on the Droid. We've had good food, fair food and some that we should have sent back. The best coffee that we've found is Community Coffee from Louisiana.
Lynnie's favorite place is Savannah, Georgia and mine the campgrounds in southern Louisiana. We've met Hispanic folks, black folks, East Indians, native Americans, Chinese and Japanese, among many. We've heard a huge variety of languages. Most of all, we've experienced JOY. It's the joy of being unencumbered and free. Free to travel, see, sleep in, eat out, cook outside in January and watch sunsets galore.
It's a great life! We plan to continue to travel and meet more great folks such as you. Keep an eye out for us, we're probably just around the corner from you. We'd love to share a cup of coffee and some easy conversation with each of you. You know our address... Come visit, call or send a text or email. God is Good! He's guided us through thick and thin and kept us aware of His presence.
Thanks to all of you for your thoughts, prayers and comments. We love you all and treasure the friendship and love that we receive from you.
Keep in touch, y'all. We will...
