We got out of Alabama this morning and head eastward.  I got a few more morning shots of the campground before we departed.  There was a huge wreak on I-10 in our view from the camp, with traffic stopped for over two hours, but in checking later, there were, miraculously, no injuries.

We took off on I-10 and saw the traffic backed up about ten miles, but it didn't affect us.  We entered the Sunshine State after about forty miles of travel and stopped at a Welcome Center where Lynnie stocked up on maps and such.  Our destination was De Funiak, about a hundred miles farther east.  The campground is located on a wooded area next to a lake.  That's the good news.  The bad news is that in spite of positive reviews, it's the worst place we've been.  It took over an hour to trouble-shoot the electrical hook-up.  The "manager" left at four thirty, but thanks to another camper, we were able to contact him by phone and find the breaker and re-set it.  The area is pretty and will be much more so when spring comes.

Florida, in this area, at least. Is covered with gentle rolling hills covered with a mixture of pines and hardwood trees.  It's an easy and pleasant drive.  We're well settled now and enjoying good wifi and time to read and relax.  We'll head to the Tallahassee area tomorrow and stop there for the night.  Campgrounds are getting busier as we go, so we need good internet to set up our itinerary.

Folks are friendlier here than in Alabama, for some reason.  But, since we are who we are, we remain sociable and positive.  Who knows, perhaps it will rub off.  See you tomorrow...
