It was our first long drive here, about 200km. The roads here are so empty and it's amazing to see the kangaroos and wildlife as you drive along. We even stopped on the way to cook up a quick lunch.
Cooktown is a very nice small town, we did a couple of the main walks including a trek up Mount Cook. This isn't very high but is not well traveled so was difficult at times to follow the path. As we were about to start our walk we met someone who had just jogged down explaining how he thought he saw a wild pig!
We enjoyed the walk until Raj saw an absolutely huge spider that was black and yellow. We were about 3 quarters of the way up but I just couldn't go any further thinking that we would have to pass so close to the spider, so I quickly headed back down the hill!
