Day 3:
Woke up trapped in my apartment. Its a pretty cool place (3 bedrooms, i
get my own), but for some reason you need a key to unlock the door,
even from the inside. I didnt have one and no one was there, I had no
internet access, and no phone, so I was basically trapped. After a
while someone got me out though.
I headed down the street to the block of production offices and
whatnot, and was put straight to work (no breakfast again). The DP must
come up with ideas in his sleep because hes always excited to see me
and puts me straight to work. Luckily, the people in Macedonia are
fairly resourceful. We were able to get a dolly and a handheld rig
built in about 3 hours of the DP deciding he wants it, for like 30
bucks each.
Then we got the camera out and realized it was broken. Albert
managed to get it working last night but now its dead. Un-fixably
broken. So he is heading back to LA to fetch a new one. Now he is
teaching me to tech on the replacement camera from slovania while he is
gone and things should be crazy overall for the next few days. Seems
Ive just been thrust into the fire.
Tomorrow were heading to some tiny village in the mountains where
the civil war broke out to get ready to shoot. From what I understand
(which obviously is little at this point, we only have access to half
of the village to shoot. The other half doesnt want us there and will
be very hostile. Thats all fine, but apparently this village is only
like 30 people...) Oh, also Ill be sleeping in a camper with no running
water or electricity for a few days.
Going on another adventure tonight. Not sure where yet besides the local mall. Should be fun.
