We went to another remote location that, but this time at least it wasnt a scary drive in the mountains. It was still a good 20 minutes on a tiny dirt road though. When we got to location I didnt really get to look around much and began shooting immediately. Plus I cant stop listening to the new As Cities Burn cd. its so good and passes the time quite well.
The village was pretty run down and interesting looking. However, on the inside the place was infested with flies. It was pretty awful, especially since I wore shorts. I couldnt keep still while shooting cause they were constantly landing on me. 10-20 at a time. There were tons. And the place smelled horrible. It was actually a wierd refridgerator kind of room where they were making cheese and it smelled like...well, rotting cheese. The good news is the red worked all day with no problems! A first time for everything. And I did get to play with some sweet toys.
Ill preface this next part with this: I think Mitko is a great director and is making all the right decisions with the actors, shots, etc. However, if things keep up how they are a Revolution is coming. The crew is really unhappy, and Mitko doesnt care. He is rude to crew (he yelled at the AD today in front of everyone), and just doesnt appear to respect them. Today he was making snide comments about everyone wanting to only work 12 hours, basically implying that people dont have anything better to do and they will just go drink after they get off work anyway, so they may as well work. He is a great director but right now his head is in the clouds and he needs to wake up or people are gonna start quitting at worst or stop caring at best. Lots of people have told me they want to quit already. I think things will shape up though, and we did only work 12 hours today, which was nice.
Tomorrow is a day exterior shoot, then im heading to Belgrad, Serbia for some reason for my day off on sunday. No idea what to expect.
By the way, I read through one of these from a few days ago and it seemed pretty terrible to read. I dont really edit these and I just kinda go for it so sorry if things are tough to read. Im sure you guys are just here to look at pictures anyway.
