Woke up super early today.  Exercised a tiny bit then packed up the van.  about 30 of us carpooled in these old scary little vans.

The location was up in the mountains, something like 18,000 meters up  (no idea how many feet that is).  The place was called tanusha and its 2 hours into the mountains.  No running water, no electricity; pretty old school.

The drive up was terrifying.  The van is old and felt like it was gonna fall apart, and there was a terrible mist.    It a winding road right on the edge of the mountain and about half way up the road isnt even paved.  But somehow I made it, and man the view was amazing.

The village is basicaly like 4 houses and a school.  There are a few soldier type guys (apparently one is wanted the police) running around with those semi-automatic rifles from the goldeneye game.

The shoot went pretty well, but was pretty long with all the travel time and whatnot.  Plus my 2nd AC is totally green and ive had to pretty much teach him everything.  Im not sure if its his personality or what but he always seems annoyed too, which gets kind of tiring.  Pulling focus is also a big chore because of my lack of compatable equipment.  the follow focus barely works on half of the lenses, the focus marks are inaccurate, and juding focus by the monitor is really tricky (especially since there is only one and myself, the dp, and the director are all scrunching in front of it.

We shot alot.  80 gigs actually.  we shot like 20 minutes of kids playing with a dollhouse.  It was pretty funny really.

Piotr is a pretty cool dp though.  His style is exactly what i expected "natural" european style.  He didnt take out a single light, and did very little lighting at all.  A bounce here and there.  It looks good though, and hes shooting 2.35 so everything immediately looks twice as good.  I shot my photos today with a more widescreen perspective in mind to give an idea of what stuff looks like.  Hope everyone enjoys.

No good food stories to report yet.  Im about to go eat beef muscle or something scary sounding.  Possibly another update tomorrow.  Gonna be up at that village for the next 7 days so might have less and less to talk about as we go.
