We leave Georgetown late as usual. Things get even more delayed by the many police and military checkpoints. We stop briefly at at a waterside as there is an abundance of wildlife. Soon after at a military checkpoint some soldiers hassle us for a lift back and we agree. We pick up 1 each and this has the advantage that we are let through all the checkpoints. At a bridge I stop briefly for some shots while the soldier is waiting in the car. As I get back in the car and accelerate it makes a huge sound like a tractor. It turns out that the exhaust box is broken and the pipe needs to be welded. It may have happened earlier while I was going over some potholes with some speed. The soldiers try to help by negotiating for us at a few villages. Unfortunately help is not around and we go around in circles. Its now dark and the return trip is stretched out too long. Im very tired and stressed out.

After a long and roaring trip back to Sekuta camping we arrive late. The owners usually are asleep by 10pm and its already 10:30. I reluctantly wake them up but luckily Joe, the owner is in good spirits despite being woken up and having had malaria yesterday.
