Wake up early about 8am as i have diarrhea and rush several times to the moroccan toilet, a simple hole in the ground. I had a bad night as the bed was awfull and the koran loudspeakers were blaring out all morning. Shower is downstairs next to reception.

I spend all morning catching up with the blog its hard work and we have forgotten our muesli bars which usually helped as being a quick and healthy breakfast. My stomach is churning while im busy typing away about the previous day. The big help is our USB internet dongle which we got for 250Dh (22.5euro /18quid) and gives 1 month unlimited internet access, more than enough!
After some of Jays Moroccan diarrhea tablets we head off to the outskirts of town, past Essaouira beach to where Jimi Hendrix used to live and stop off at a pink cafe themed after the famous singer. We have some mint tea served with some dodgy looking biscuits. We eat them as it fills a hole. The owner tries to overcharge us for the tea and biscuits, not a good idea..

At the entrance to this place there is an unfinished bridge and we park below to do some serious moving.. Today my Jeep will go the mechanics to have it changed from right-hand drive to left. Theres plenty to do and eventually manage. Slowly we drive into town to what looks like the slums. We finally find the garage and mohammed the arab speaking mechanic. We park up and need some food. Just round the corner is a small place and i imagine that no outsider has eaten there before. We order some delicious Tajine (chicken & potato) and eat like the locals, no cutlery but some moroccan bread to scoop up the bits. 36Dh for both (3.20euro /2.70quid) with a 1l bottle of coke. Very cheap!

Back to the mechanics and some fierce haggling takes place. The most intense by far.. It goes on for ages and our translator, Brahim becomes an obstacle.. instead of being our translator we realise he thinks he is our negotiator and sets the price himself to the guys. In the end we have to agree on more than we had bargained for. We meet the team and couldn't help but notice that guy had 6 fingers. Stupidly i didnt get a photo.. must release those inhibitions!
Another guy had a funny name.. thaicock! it apparently means "annoying horse fly" ha ha ha ha!!
We head off somewhat sour to Brahims workplace, a kitesurf school in town to look for apartments and speak to Brahims boss who speaks good English and is interested in buying some of our stuff. We find quite a few apartments around and according to the guidebook they go for 500Dh/night. We get some down to 150Dh/night but they aint 100% what we need. We decide to get back to the hotel and another drunk in broad daylight almost gets runover by us as he sways barely an inch past our car on the dirttrack. In Morocco people are not used to drinking alcohol at all. Before parking outside the Medina wall Jay almost runs over a guy dressed completely in black leaning against a car tyre in the middle of a difficult bend. Its crazy. We have some mint tea and Jay get his haircut. A superb job with a cut-throat razor for only 20Dh (1.80euro /1.50quid).
After the hotel we get back into town and have something to eat in the tight streets at a local fish place. Cheap as chips once again. Jay gets a Lightroom lecture at the hotel.

Auberge details: Auberge Tasra, route d'Essaouira (Essaouira road). Their cell phone: 068 24 29 18. Email: bijerch@web.de

When you arrive in Imsouane harbour from Agadir, do not go to the seashore and 'downtown' (if one can speak of a downtown!!), but turn right. The auberge is roughly 1km ahead on the right side of the road, quite alone at the very end of Imasouane, before the mountains and the little road to Essaouira.
