We arrived El Jadida late at night. Every town gives a different impression each time we turn up at night. We park the cars and have a wander around looking for a cheap place to stay and have some food. Its busy and we enter a sort of bustling market area. Behind it are very narrow and filthy streets. We find a few places and haggle heavily for an even cheaper price! We get something to eat from the market stalls and the food is quite simply delicious and cheap! We finally find a decent enough price for a place to stay and pickup our bags from the Jeeps we have left in a nearby car park after paying a guardian for the night. We pickup a USB dongle for internet access to save the hassle of going to internet cafes. The dongle is cheap and includes a months worth of unlimited internet access! more than enough..

In the morning we visit the Medina and its famous ancient Portuguese cistern. The lady at the ticket desk initially refuses our entry since we're sporting our professional cameras and tripods claiming we need permission from the ministry of culture. Annoyed we explain we're not journalists. Once inside we take a good couple of snaps and once happy with the results its back to the cars to head off. Outside of town we can either head off on the motorway or through a smaller, bumpier road alongside the coast. We choose the latter and im glad so, the sights and sounds are worth it.
