We arrive 35mins later and the local time is 2 hrs less than mainland Spain which i find a bit confusing. The docking bay has been occupied (welcome to africa) so we wait around. Im quite excited and are finally whisked out of the boat to customs. Once there things get complicated as usual, many questions are asked with lots of back n forth. A few locals that hang around for pocket-money help us with the paperwork. I take a sneaky pic of the customs office with no-one around. After all that we head off into town in the dark.
I genuinely feel like entering some adventure film with indiana jones. At the main square we stop off and pay the parking guardian 1 euro to guard the cars all night. At the main square we have something to eat and enjoy some delicious mint-tea but i burn my mouth while drinking it. Many glue sniffers come to the table for some food. They are hushed away by the store keepers. Jay quickly buys me a Moroccan SIM card for next to nothing. An elderly british man who has lived in Tangiers for 11years sits next to us and talks to us about the town and claims he has 7 servants. We head off to some accomodation he recommended around the corner. The place we intended to stay is full but some meters further down is hotel magellan. Jay bargains for the price and gets it way cheaper than originally asked for. Way of life in Morocco. The room is actually very decent and has Wifi access from which i have much catching up to do! I have a cold shower before bed as therer is no hot water but then again im used to cold showers from my time in the army
