We set off after some good food at the restaurant and picked up a prescription i needed from the doctors. The trip to Algeciras took about 1.20hrs. On the way we passed a huge lake that spread all over the place. The plan was to stop and go for a swim but the wind was howling, the water choppy and filthy looking. Algeciras, like many huge harbour cities is pretty filthy and chaotic. Not great for being the entrance to Europe. We dodged all the traffic and decided to inquire within the harbour regarding the ferry timetable. There were husWe had to park quite far and we saw many smashed up and abandoned cars and a huge number of different number plates, many i had never seen before.
We leave the harbour and head for the big shopping center outside of town heading towards Gibraltar. We head for C&A, mediamarkt and carrefour for some stuff. Then its to McDonalds for some WiFi and junk food. We catch up a bit on things and head of to la linea, concepcion which is at the border to Gibraltar looking for a place to stay. On the way we pass a huge power plant. The sun has just set and whole thing looks like an enormous christmas tree. We stop and arrive a bit too late regarding having light for some good photos. Nontheless me and Jay shoot some great pics of which were both very proud! We head off to town and Its very cramped and Jays TomTom GPS goes dead. I take lead but the narrow streets and high buildings render the GPS signal useless. There was a Hostel at the entrance of the town so we head there. It has Wifi and everything we need. I manage to negotiate a good price and it turns out to be the nicest place we've stayed so far!
