Set off at 2:30pm from Jays house in the beautiful village of Barking Tye in Suffolk. First time behind the wheel of a right-hand car in a very looong time! Very awkward! Didn't know that the indicator is on right-hand side instead of the left as im used to. We drive a bit through the villages and countryside to get a bit used to everything. Good Job we got some walkie-talkies. We stop off quickly at a petrol station and try to get used to which side the petrol cap is on. Many small obstacles to get used to! We hit the motorway crossing the QE2 bridge and avoiding London, thank god for that!
We arrive at dover around about 19:00 and get a security check. Waiting around we decide that its too expensive to buy any food in the port. Board at 19:30.
On the boat we get on the top deck and take some photos. Once inside we sit down and take the opportunity to charge the walkie-talkies and go through some amazing photos from previous trips. I give Jay a short induction on my photography gear. We arrive some 1.5 hrs later at the port of bordeaux and the stench of rotten fish is overwhelming! Not very good for a first Impression
