It will not be incorrect to say that Pushkar which is just 23 km away from Ajmer is the abode of Lord Brahma( The creator of universe). As per the folklore, once the lord was to attend a religious 'havan' where his wife was to accompany him. Since she was delayed, the lord married again and was attending the ceremony. The first wife came and was enraged to see the god with another wife!. She cursed him that other than in Pushkar there will be no other place of worship for him. To this day, the only place where Brahma( The Creator) has a temple is in Pushkar. The pond around which the town exists is where most of the Hindus come to make offerings.People take bath in the holy pond to atone themselves

Pushkar is a small and vibrant town which has money changers, food vendors selling assortments like local cuisene, the pizzas, burgers, noodles, falafel et all.The grass is available for people who would like to have a brush with the dope so a large number of young foreigners come here. The desert safari and the Annual Camel fair at Pushkar in November each year make this place a huge draw .
A local politician and his cavalcade of honking men, a five legged cow, and a religious procession with people dressed in colorful costumes were the high points besides the visit to the temple and the pond!

The Vishnu temple is a beautiful temple at the entry to the town which people visit after visiting the Brhama temple.

The place is well connected by bus service and private taxis and it takes just half an hour to Ajmer through a mountainous terrain
