Well, the day started fairly well.

Again, we were up early - 530am this time. I guess someone's body clock hasn't fully adjusted to the time zone. We managed to entertain ourselves until breakfast was served at 7.

It had been a rough sea overnight, and would continue to be fairly rough all day: there were people staggering drunkenly all over the ship, and the hubbly-bubbly pools would have been better described as sloshy-woshy. They even closed the ice rink (yes, this monstrous floating hotel even has an ice-rink), much to my disappointment - I'd have loved the challenge of skating on a moving sheet of ice...
However, towards the end of breakfast, I started to feel an urgent need for a bathroom. So I hot-footed it back to our cabin. And there I stayed for the day.

After I threw up for the first time, I thought it might be wise to visit the medical centre. I duly did so, and filled in the ream of forms that are required to get permission to be ill on a ship. Then the nice nurse told me it'd cost between $70 and $150 to see a doctor. I suddenly felt miraculously better, but took her up on her offer of Imodium for $7.
I've no idea what caused it; perhaps the rough seas exacerbated the top-half-trouble, but the bottom-half was unrelated and unusual for me.

Helen and Margaret kept Xander entertained, though. I've no idea what they got up to all day, but at one point he came back to the room with this on his arm:
I took him for a short while so that H could have a facial at the spa, and finished off the ice cream he ordered... and regretted it 20 minutes later. Even the nibble of apple I had at 7pm as I put X to bed came back again. This did not bode well for Tuesday's excursion in Belize!

Xander's last words to me as I tucked him up were "I hope you're better tomorrow, Dad. Then I can give you kisses and hugs again."

I went to sleep at 8pm and hoped for an overnight recovery.
