Just a quick update while I have a few minutes. Kind of intended for Thomas & Jack & Ben to see these photos. I think they might recognise the cars...hopefully!

On our way down Route 66 this morning we stopped off at one of the only remaining original lengths of the road, in a little roadside town called Seligman.  Its a tiny little town that was established between 1889-1891 by the Theut and Moultrie families after they took it over from the Apache Indians.

Seligman is the town of which Radiator Springs in the Pixar film Cars is based on, and as you arrive in the town, the real life versions of the cars are in a replica lot to the side of the road, with the faces painted onto the windows :) (see pictures) The Pixar guys, who are also the makers of Toy Story, drew the owners of the local store a cartoon of Woody and Buzz Lightyear which was pretty cool.

Such a cool little town, especially the old barbers shop which has since been turned into a tourist store. The store is head to toe covered in Route 66 items from history, and collections of things that visitors from all around the world have left over the years.

The walls are covered in peoples business cards from round the world, and their individual bank notes from their countries which they have signed (all were there long before the Euro was introduced!), i spotted a Bank of Ireland five pound note, but no Ulster Bank note, which I rummaged in my bag for but couldn't find one! such a shame! We spent a little while here taking photos and talking to the workers in the store.

I bought a little Route 66 charm for my bracelet at home :)  Started collecting keyrings from the places I visit, so I got a Route 66 keyring too! We also drove over the Hoover Dam on our way to Vegas, which we  just arived in... but i'll leave that blog for another day... :)
