I arrived in Nairobi last nite.. Got a taxi to the hotel no problem.. Got badgered a bit by some people trying to get me to take their taxi, but stuck to kumukas advice and found the recommended travel desk.. They were sound - If your every flying into Nairobi look out for them.. "Venture Africa" theyr called - wooden round desk to left side of airport as you come out of baggage claim! :-)

Neway! today, I woke up around 8ish and decided to go and see the city!! After breakfast and getting me room sorted (Issues with fans and safes!) I went on a nairobi city tour (saw all the sights - well buildings - and went into the museum (In the museum it tells ya where the diff animals etc live in partsa africa - sum animals id never seen before but was told sum of them are near kilimanjaro and am likely to see em so will be looking forward to that aspect of it as well!! Heading there saturday morning - early start so have to get an early nite tomorrow night!)

Anyway, I also went to Karen Blixens farmhouse / musuem place today as well.. That was class.. for those of you that dont know, Shes the one that wrote out of africa! I cant say much myself coz i havnt read the book, but defo am going to!! Meant to buy one from there, but forgot before i left to pick one up! :-/

Nairobi is a bit mad.. Is funny thou, and its no wonder so many people are so skinny here, they walk everywhere!! The kids in Ireland should really be knocked back into reality and outa lazy land and start walkn 2 school and stop makin traffic worse.. Am so glad im away from all that! Thou sayn that the drivers here are a tad mad! Dont think theres too many rules of the road at all!! Well, there might be one.. just drive and hope for the best! - And pull out in fronta other cars and vans etc, they wont hit you! :D

The local buses are funny acturally - saw a lad just running along as one was moving and jumping on! Unfortunately didnt have camera turned on as woulda been v good photo, but neway!!

The shops over here, (well, some of them, they do have big shopping centres as well!) if u can call em that - are little outside stalls.. They sell anything at them.. - Food (corn on the cob cooked seems popular!) - Furniture - Clothes etc..! And instead of car window cleaners and newspaper sellers at traffic lights, you've got lads sellin all ranges of things..!! I saw watches, head kits for nokia phones, and kids toy mobiles today! (Of what i can rmember!)

Think the people in the htl im stayin in think im a bit mad.. went swimming in the pool (its nice and toasty here!! :D) and its their winter so it kinda suprised them i thought..! Ah well, it was nice and i got to chill beside the pool then after! :-) Was great.. swimming outdoors in Nariobi in April.. a far cry from wot i woulda been doing at home in Dubs!

Think thats all the sca for now.. Will write more again soon!
