There's something beautiful about the lull before the storm.
Today for my Masters of the Renaissance: Art History course, we took a field trip to Vinci- Leonardo da Vinci's birthplace! This trip was much more manageable since the bus ride was only about an hour in each direction. One word to describe Vinci: visionary. Honestly, for the first time I was finally able to see a town that actually looks like the stereotypical Italy! It is exactly what you see in the movies, in your textbook, and just what you have always pictured Italy to look like. You know, the rolling hills, the symmetrical trees all lined up perfectly, the red-roofed houses spread in every direction. It was beautiful. Seriously, for a town to look as good as Vinci did in the rain, I mean, whoa! It was just breathtaking. And the cloudy weather just added to the beauty. Enjoy some of the pictures I uploaded below!
