Leaving Cape Town early today was very sad as we had to leave behind
those who were getting off at this stage, Yolanda, Pete, Lee and of
course Lex and Mark who had alerady left.  We had to leave nice ad
early (7am) as we had another long drive day. I don't remember the day
being
eventful, except for stopping at Cape Agulhas, the southern most tip of
Africa.  This was massively exciting...or not so much really....as
it was a freezing day and the waves were throwu\ing mist over us so we
all ran off the bus, quickly took a pic then ran back on huddled in our
sleeping bags!

Passing through the town of Oudtshoorn where we
were staying near to, we happened across a random festivel which looked
quite fun, so we ended up there the night after for a bit, after our
day at the Kango Caves and the Ostritch Farm....

The caves probably would have been more interesting had we not been
sent down on a guided tour with about 100 other people, and had the
guide not spoken to us as if we were 4 years old.  Ie
increeeeeedibly slowly and by accompanying all facts and figures with
hand gestures, in case we didn't know how many '4' was, she showed us
on her hand...it was pretty funny and we hence spent the whole tour in
a state of complete giggles, so not really learning much about the
caves at all!  Still, they were pretty impressive, and Drew hada a
complain afterwards and managed to get our money back....so we actually
made a profit as the the cave tour was paid for by Oasis.  Score...

Then the Ostrich farm was cool..they told us alla bout teh birds and
why they are farmed etc.  Then we got to pet them and even ride on
them.  Silly me decided to volunteer to go first which was stupid
really being as accident prone as i seem to be on this trip!!
Luckily i managed to ride the ostrich for a few seconds before being
helped off by the guides...no injuries to show either. It was really
funny then to watch other people do it, especially Carmen as her bird
pelted off at top speed!

That evening we headed back into the town for the festival, which was
an arts festival for easter weekend, and had loads of different people
playing, afrikaans mainly, but it was really good, we found a bar that
had a stage in the garden and watched a random rock band play.
Good fun.  Unfortunately we had to leave pretty early as the truck
was going back to teh campsite at 11pm so if we didnt want to stay all
night we had to go then!
